Set in a restored thatched cottage close to the sea in the remote townland of Ballybeg, County Donegal, The Communication Cord is a farce which is pre-occupied with language and its powerful effects.
Kilmuckridge Drama Group reformed in 2008 and have staged productions on the 3-Act circuit every year since reforming. The group reached the confined 3-Act finals on many occasions during these years. They won the Clare Galway trophy for the first time in 2014 with their production of Conor McPhersons The Weir and for a second time in 2022 with their production of The Playboy of the Western World” by J.M Synge. In 2015 the group reached the open finals for the first time with their production of The Kings of the Kilburn High Road by Jimmy Murphy. In 2023 the group were placed third in the All Ireland finals with their production of Sive.
