The Award for Best Director went to Donie Walsh of Kilmeen Drama Group for "The Seafarer" in the Open and Fidelma Meaney of Curtain Call Productions for "Closer" in the Confined.
 
Special Adjudicator's Awards went to: Kilworth Drama Group for their use of live music in the play; Anne-Marie Whelan of Enniscorthy Drama Group for the 'Make-Up'; and Karen Dunbar for the best 'young' actor - playing "Ruth" in Tribes from Gorey Little Theatre.
 
Other Awards:
 
Best Set: Compantas Lir for "The Birds".
Best Presentation: Curtain Call Productions for "Closer".
Best Lighting: Ballyduff Drama Group for "The Cripple of Inishmaan".
 
The "Golden Moment of Theatre" went to "Mr Lockhart" in The Seafarer.
 
The Award for "Most Entertaining Play" - voted by the audience - went to Ballyduff for "The Cripple of Inishmaan".
 
The Seamus Ahern Memorial Award this year went to John Conway for his contribution to drama in the Ballyduff Community. He has served in several positions on the Committee, run the bar in the Festival Club and always been available to help with putting up posters and working with set and props over several decades.

Since 1981, West Waterford Drama Festival is held in Ballyduff during March. Over three decades of dramatic excitement, community endeavour, investment in friendship and sheer good fun. All driven by an ethos of volunteerism, community and good humour. more
